Akonni is advancing its sample-in, answer-out TruDx3000 system for infectious and genetic disease testing. The TruDx3000 promises to be a new paradigm in in vitro diagnostics by providing physicians with more information at a fraction of the cost of current tests.

The Akonni TruDx3000 system incorporates the following innovative approaches to achieve this new paradigm:

• MagVor™ is a patented method of homogenizing viscous and heterogeneous samples while also capable of lysing difficult-to-disrupt organisms. It offers ease of automation and negligible cost to the consumable.
• TruTip^® is a patented approach to nucleic acid isolation that can easily be integrated into an automated workflow.
• TruArray^®, protected by more than 40 patents, consist of 3D gel drop arrays that can interrogate hundreds of genetic targets for infectious and genetic diseases.
• Lab-on-a-Film™ microfluidic disposables integrate lateral-flow microfluidics and 3D gel drop arrays printed on plastic films, enabling a method of segregating reaction solutions without a valve. Lab-on-a-film devices offer a 1,000x lower cost alternative to standard glass substrates. This method is also capable of utilizing reel-to-reel manufacturing – the method used to manufacture pregnancy tests.
• TruDx^® Imager is a low-cost optical imaging system that is substantially lower in cost than commercial systems.
• Control and analysis software allows automated processing of the entire protocol from sample to answer.
